Mr. Li Chunsheng - Chairman, ICA-Asia Pacific

Mr. Li Chunsheng is the  Vice President of the All China Federation of Supply and Marketing Co-operatives (ACFSMC), holding the rank of Deputy Minister. Mr. Li is committed to promoting win-win cooperation and mutual development between co-operatives in the Asia-Pacific Region and around the world. During his long period of service, he worked with Helihe farm in Heilongjiang Province, Ministry of Forestry, and the State Council in China.  In 1995, he joined ACFSMC as the Deputy Secretary General and Director of Farm-inputs Bureau. He later assumed office as the Secretary General and the Director of International Co-operation Department before being elected the Vice President of ACFSMC in 2000. 

Dr. Chandra Pal Singh Yadav - Vice Chairman, ICA-Asia Pacific

Dr. Chandrapal Singh Yadav, a Member of the Upper House of Indian Parliament (Rajya Sabha), is the Chairman of Krishak Bharti Cooperative Ltd. (KRIBHCO) and all its subsidiaries. He is also the President of NCUI, the apex institution of cooperative movement in India. In addition, Dr. Yadav is presently the Vice Chairperson of International Cooperative Alliance - Asia and Pacific (ICA-AP) region. He is also on the Boards of among other the International Raiffeisen Union (IRU), Germany, National Cooperative Consumers' Federation of India (NCCF), National Agriculture Cooperative Marketing Federation (NAFED), National Federation of Urban Coop Banks & Credit Societies (NAFCUB), National Federation of State Coop Banks (NAFSCOB).    Dr. Yadav, holds M.Sc, B.Ed, L.L.B and PhD degrees.

Ms. Chitose Arai -  Vice Chairman, ICA- Asia Pacific

JCCU, Japan

Ms. Chitose Arai serves as the Vice President of Japanese Consumers' Co-operative Union (JCCU) since 2015. JCCU is the sole national federation of consumer co-operatives embracing 28 million individual members. Ms. Arai is also the Chairperson of Co-op Mirai, the biggest consumer co-op in Japan. She was elected as a board member of Co-op Mirai in 2013 when Saitama Co-op merged with Co-op Tokyo and Chiba Co-op to Co-op Mirai. Prior to the merger, she was elected as a board member of Saitama Co-op in 2005 and served for 8 years. 

H. A.M. Nurdin Halid -  Indonesia

Mr. Nurdin Halid is the President of DEKOPIN-the Indonesian Cooperative Council. He was first elected as President in 2009 and a second time in 2014. Mr. Halid has served a Member of the Indonesian House of Representative from 1997-2005. He started his career as a teacher and then joined the rural cooperative organization in South Sulawesi more than 25 years ago.  He is a graduate of the Institute of Teaching and Education of Makassar – South Sulawesi.

 

Mr. Alireza Gharagozlou - Iran

Dr. Alireza Gharagozlou is the Deputy of Economic and International Affairs at the Iran chamber of cooperatives (ICC). He has 16 years experience in International Business Development and Business Matching having made more than 100 international business travels to all continents. He is a  real international practitioner with good understanding of global business environment.  He holds a PhD in international business and is a Progmatic University lecturer.

Mr. Efren M. Bravo- Philippines

Efren M. Bravo Bravo is one of the seasoned leaders in the country, having sat in various cooperative organizations as Board of Director and as Chairperson. He became a Board of Director of NATCCO in 2016 and on his second year as Board member, he was elected as the Chairperson. He has also been a Board of Director of MASS-SPECC Cooperative Development, the 2nd biggest federation and a member of NATCCO, for six (6) years; Board of Director of the Model Cooperative Network for five (5) years. He has been a Board of Director of a primary cooperative Panabo Multi-Purpose Cooperative for nine (9) years, where he served as Chairperson for eight (8) years. Panabo MPC is one of the few billionaire cooperatives in the country.
He brings with him his expertise in finance and accounting. A Certified Public Accountant, he is the General Manager of the E.M. Bravo Accounting and Auditing Firm. He has served in various corporations mostly as Comptroller, Finance Manager, Accounting and Finance Manager.  

Mr. Byeong Won Kim - S. KOREA

Mr. Byeong Won Kim was elected as the Chairman of the National Agriculture Cooperative Federation in 2016. Prior to that, he was the President of NH Food Grain Inc. (subsidiary of NACF) from 2015 to 2016; President of NH Trading Co (subsidiary of NACF) from 2013 to 2015; Board member of NACF from 2004 to 2011; and President of Nampyeong Agriculture Cooperative from 1999 to 2012. Mr. Kim has devoted his life and career to agriculture and the co-operative movement. He truly believes that the co-operative business model yields opportunities to improve the livelihoods of the socially and economically weak and is steadfast in adherence to his belief. 

Mr. A. Lalith W. Peiris - SRI LANKA

Mr. A. Lalith W. Peiris is the Chairperson of the National Cooperative Council of Sri Lanka. He is also the Chairperson of Wennappuwa Multipurpose Co-operative Society, Chairperson of Halawatha District Co-operative Council, Chairperson of Co-operative Insurance Company Ltd, Chairperson of Tile Producers Co-operative Society, Director of Co-operative Rural Bank Federation, and a Member of Management Committee of National Institute of Co-operative Development. Mr. Peiris had participated in many international co-operative education and training programs, seminars, conferences and taken part in exposure visits to many countries.  

Mr. Dato Hj. Abdul Fattah Hj. Abdullah – President, ANGKASA

Dato Hj. Abdul Fattah Hj. Abdullah is the Chairperson of the Malaysia Co-operative movement (Angkasa0 since 2010. He has been active in the cooperative movement since 2000 when he was elected as the Chairman of the Smallholder Co-operative of Lipis, Pahang. In 2014, he was elected as President of ASEAN Cooperative Organizations (ACO) until 2018 at the ACO meeting in Bali, Indonesia. Dato' Abdul Fattah Abdullah sits on the Board of Cooperative College of Malaysia (since August 2013). He has worked in the Malaysian Government sector from 1979 until 2007. Dato' Abdul Fattah graduated from University of Pura Malaysia with Bachelor of Communication; he also holds a Professional Diploma in Entrepreneurship and Business Management from University of Malaya. 

Mr. Kwek Kok Kwong – Singapore

Mr. Kwek Kok Kwong is the CEO, NTUC LearningHub CO-operatives since February 2013. In the last four years, he has led LearningHub to be a leading training organization and cooperative in Singapore, training more than 10,000 workers per month in various areas like trade skills, soft skills, IT, safety and health, service excellence, and innovation so that they remain relevant to market needs. He believes in lifelong learning, graduating in Mathematics, Public Administration and is now a certified Neuro-Linguistic Programming practitioner. Prior to joining NTUC, Kok Kwong served with distinction in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) for 27 years till 31 July 2012.  

Mr. Keshav Prasad Badal- Nepal

Mr. Keshav Prasad Badal holds the position of Chairman of the National Cooperative Federation of Nepal (NCFN).  He is a former minister of Ministry of Industry, Nepal Government and is currently a Member of Parliament. Mr. Badal has been part of the cooperative movement for a long time as a cooperative leader who played a key role in drafting the Cooperative Act 1992. He has a BA in economics from Tribhuvan University in Nepal. Mr. Badal is an advisor at Nepal Agricultural Co-operative Central Federation Ltd. (NACCFL). He was a coordinator at National Advocacy Center for Natural Resources and Chairman of the High Level Land Reform Commission of the Government of Nepal.

Ahsan Ali Thakur - Chairperson, ICA Asia and Pacific Committee  Youth Co-operation

Ahsan Ali Thakur is the Head of Human Resource Department, Karachi Co-operative Housing Societies Union Ltd. working since 2009 in K.C.H.S. Union Ltd. He has been the part of ICA-AP Youth Committee since 2007 since the First Youth Elections occurred in Singapore and is serving in the committee since then. He began his work as a representative from the KCHS Union Ltd. and joined in as a full time afterwards.
He is also a youth activist in Pakistan and has played fine role in the time of Crises and Natural Disasters. Motivating youth for the future through training and recreational activities.  

Dr. Nandini Azad- Acting Chairperson, ICA Asia and Pacific Women's Committee

Dr. Nandini Azad is a senior women leader in the cooperative movement. She is currently the Acting Chairperson of the ICA-AP women’s Committee and a special invitee on gender diversity to the International Raiffeison Union board. An elected President of the Indian Cooperative Network for Women with a membership of over 5,00,000 poor women in the informal sector. A member of the National Cooperative Union of India’s Women’s Empowerment Committee, she is a board member of the National Women’s Credit Fund (Ministry of Women, Govt of India) and Chairperson of its Revitalization Committee. Dr. Azad holds a Ph.D from Syracuse University, USA and has worked extensively at senior levels with the Planning Commission of India, IFAD, ADB, UNDP, ILO, and FAO.
